Plane crashed and landed in cemetery

March 23, 2009

planecrash_032309A small plane carrying children on a ski trip crashed Sunday as it approached the airport in Butte, Montana. It killed 14 to 17 people aboard, a federal official said. The single engine turboprop dived into a cemetery 500 feet from its destination.

FAA Spokesman Mike Fergus says preliminary reports indicate the dead included many children. “We think that it was probably a ski trip for the kids,” Fergus said.

The aircraft crashed and burned while attempting to land. The plane crashed in Holy Cross Cemetery.

An investigator with the National Transportation Safety Board offered few details at a press conference in Butte Sunday night. No cause of the crash was given.

Kristel

March 22, 2009

kristel1I was born on the small island of St.Lucia and was raised there for most of my life. I moved to the US to attend high school and then college at the University of Central Florida. I graduated with a double major in Entrepreneurship and Marketing.  While attending UCF I was involved in the Caribbean Students Association, Student Entrepreneurship Society, and Delta Sigma Pi professional business fraternity. Upon graduation I began my career in the insurance industry with Aflac. In my free time I began working with local photographers modeling in the area. I slowly expanded to participating in local runway shows as well. I am also involved with Orlando Carnival where I am a band leader for Island Fantasy, a band that has won band of the year 3 years in a row! Giving back to the community is also very important to me, so I am a part of Orlando Breakfast Rotary Club where we serve the Orange Center Elementary School. Here I volunteer with the school with everything from fundraising to mentoring. My other passions are working out, travelling and boating.

I also currently work part time with MACO magazine where I am the US sales/marketing rep. We have 2 magazines that we promote, one is Caribbean Living catered to high end individuals living in the Caribbean. The second is Destinations catered to international individuals who are looking to travel to the Caribbean region. I try to contact ad agencies where I present the magazines to the media buyers who in turn help me fill ad space in the magazine. This is my “fun” job!!
