Which have resulted in a significant spike in online viewership and renewed interest in one of his productions.

Rihanna in a home-made video [WATCH VIDEO] now gone viral is seen sitting on what appears to be a flight of steps singing along to Busy Signal’s – Come Over (Missing You); featured on the Heart & Soul Rhythm the song has seen a massive increase of over two million views in a matter of days. Checks online revealed that prior to her playful rendition the viewership on the official video stood at approximately 1.3 million which has now exceeded the 3.3 million mark. [WATCH OFFICIAL VIDEO]

spelautomater . line-height: 18.890625px;">The increased viewership has also spawned the video making its way onto MTV IGGY, an official arm of MTV that relentlessly scours the globe in search of exciting young musicians creating the sounds of the future.

Unga, an accomplished producer and musician said he has been getting a lot of calls and positive feedback from various industry players across the world regarding the project.

In a statement to the media Unga explained, “Over the past couple of days I have been getting a lot of calls and feedback about the song and that’s how I became aware of what Rihanna had done… for that I give thanks! But more importantly this proves once again the significant impact that Reggae music has around the globe.” In closing the musical virtuoso pleaded for the nation and its policy makers to respect and do more to uplift the Jamaican culture.

Meanwhile, Unga who recently collaborated with Reggae stalwart Jimmy Cliff is expected to release a new project titled Intransit Rhythm featuring musical heavyweights: Demarco, Jah Cure, Konshens, I-Octane, Christopher Martin, Ras Penco and Chevaughn among others.

Interview with Dj HP

Written by metkai on Tuesday, 28 May 2013 02:57.

Last Maddie Maddie Wednesday’s show was another success with our guest interviewee the regionally known Dj HP.

Dj HP is a career driven music enthusiast who has nurtured his passion for the arts under St.Lucia’s top rated sound system “Summit Sounds aka Sound City”. Being an apprentice on this soundsystem from his very early teens has afforded Dj HP a unique personality & comfortability with large and mixed crowds. Now he has taken his craft to another level as a performing artist he has achieved instant stardom by capturing the power soca crown in 2010 with his hit single "Pa Mele`".

HP told Maddie Maddie Wednesdays listeners that he is ready for Slu Carnival 2k13 and is confident in re-capturing the crown. He has already released an uptempo track “All Inclusive” on the Bright Shadow riddim and is happy with the response thus far having done several interviews with media outlets accrediting him with versatility. Dj HP also noted that he has tried his hand at writing his personal songs and is currently contemplating on whether he should release this year and gave listeners a live on air preview which sure stirred up our chat room; but gambling problems has relayed due to the laid back of artists in St.Lucia his producers has encouraged him to hold back on his personal tune and head straight for competition mode.

The Dj / Artist made a big announcement  stating that the Internationally known record label Precision Productions has contacted him and told him they have a tune that they have written especially for him and would love to work with him.

Interviewer: how did they learn of you? (Precision Productions)

Dj HP: I thinks is because of my 2012 song "Panty and Bra" because they spoke alot about it whilst I was in studio with them. They said after hearing the tune for the 1st time they liked it and knew there would be some controversy about it but regardless it was a hit for them.

Interviewer: How did they contact you?

Dj HP: They were in St.Lucia doing work with Teddyson John, then they called me up saying they have a tune for me and I should come down and listen to it. The title of the track is called Mad Again.

HP also boast of a 3rd tune with 758 studio soon to be released, and he revealed the secret behind that particular song is that it has some punch lines from an old school early 90’s hit soca song from translator called “Ninja in St.Lucia”

The young artist / dj prides himself on always being consistent and taking pride in his music and promises he will leave his fans completely entertained and would take heed of any criticism fore he can only better himself from there.

Last words from Dj HP for upcoming artists is : “when taking advice from people let no one tell you that you cannot do it, the only one that can tell you you can't is yourself fore you alone know your limits.
