It's now official St.Lucia Carnival will be like no other.
Qpid announced in the Maddie Maddie Wednesday show exclusive interview that she will be will be releasing a 2ndalbum to commemorate her tenth anniversary as a performing soca artist. This new CD and SLU carnival 2013, Qpid promised, will be filled with infectious soca music and wild, energetic performances.
Qpid called upon other female artists to join the vibrant field of soca music and the whole carnival experience. Her job as a performer within a dominant male industry, she revealed, was difficult as there were not many other female artistes to share the pressure of representation particularly for her ever growing female fans.
Qpid revealed further that because of the impact that she had on fans as a soca artiste in the last decade, she was asked to judge St. Lucia Piton Stars at which she discovered Mongster & Ambi whom she later introduced to Dutch-Productions. Mongster & Ambi are now amongst the top rising stars having won the groovy soca monarch title in 2010 and having placed in the top 3 in other such competitions.
The top rated female performing artist promised improved performances at St. Lucia carnival 2013 and at some of the top festivals in Europe and the US this year.
LUCIAN BACHANNAL CD
With several Carnival bands already launched as we all look ahead to Carnival 2013. Saint Lucian record label Stratosphere Muzic is also getting an early jump on the season with the release of a compilation entitled ”Lucian Bacchanal.”
Ten of the fourteen tracks on the CD are brand new music, the first time such material is available for purchase ahead of the Carnival season which traditionally starts in May. Lucian Bacchanal also includes four 2012 releases including the smash hits “Ramen” and “Saint Lucia We Love.”
Several of the featured artistes on the CD will perform at upcoming Saint Lucia Jazz and Arts Festival events. Superman HD , Ricky T and Mongstar are scheduled to open the festival on 30th April at Mindoo Phillip Park with Ambi and Qpid also expected to perform at fringe events like Jazz on the Square.
All the songs on Lucian Bacchanal were recorded, mixed and mastered at Dutch Productions studio where Courtney Louis a three-time COTT award winner and 2008 Saint Lucia Producer of the Year is based.
The featured music is from the Ramen riddim including Ambi’s track “Ramen,”
“Cheaters Confession” by reigning Power Soca Monarch Superman HD; and Haffi Cum back which is sung by Qpid. The Jump Over riddim features Marie Anne with titled track “Lucian Bacchanal“ and Invaders “Saw Him”. Ricky T and Ambi are featured on the said riddim “40 days and 40 nights” as is Piton Soca Star winner 2012 Jay Budz with “Whining Instructor.”
There is one song on the Local Riddim , which is sung by Mongstar called “ Nationality “ which was released in time for the observance of Saint Lucia’s 34th
Independence this year. And finally the”Junkie bacchanal” riddim has Mongstar and Ricky T on the riddim title track , D’ Sean with “Jookay” , Soca Princess’ “Soca Man” and Qpid and Ambi with “Chippin on the Road”
This compilation also features PITON Soca Stars 2011 winner Sergie on the “Woman of the House” track.

Halle Berry Pregnant With Second Child: It's a Boy!
Halle Berry's daughter Nahla is going to have a little brother.
E! News has confirmed that the Oscar winner is pregnant with her and fiancé Olivier Martinez's first child, and that she'll be adding a baby boy to her growing brood!
The actress' rep told E! News, "We can confirm that Halle Berry and Olivier Martinez are expecting a child. We will not be commenting on or confirming any additional details."
